IGF-1 LR3
Long R3 insulin-like growth factor 1 · Growth Factor Research
Long-acting IGF-1 analog studied for anabolic and repair signaling.
IGF-1 LR3 is an 83-residue analog of insulin-like growth factor 1 carrying an arginine substitution at position 3 and an N-terminal extension. Both modifications reduce binding to IGF-binding proteins, which is why it is favoured as a longer-acting reference agonist in cell-culture work. Research use only.

How it is studied
- IGF-1 receptor activation (Growth) - Agonism at IGF-1R is studied for downstream PI3K/Akt and MAPK signaling in proliferation models.
- Reduced IGFBP binding (Pharmacology) - The LR3 modifications lower binding-protein affinity, extending free availability in culture.
- Protein synthesis endpoints (Anabolic) - Investigated in myotube and cell-survival models. Not a human efficacy claim.
